The alliance with leading news agency Associated Press Archive (AP Archive), means the ABC can offer premium footage on every major event since moving images began.
ABC clients can now access an expanded international collection of content, including several daily news feeds covering everything from terrorism to celebrities, what’s happening this minute to world milestones over the past 100 years.
Not only is there more footage, it’s easier to access through the AP Archive's genre and thematic compilations held by the ABC. Plus Australasian and SE Asian clients will be able to access this major international collection in their own time zone. Core AP Archive material is held by the ABC, and for the remainder the ABC can rapidly access from AP Archive's London base.
As part of the Associated Press, the world’s oldest and largest news gathering organisation, AP Archive has bureaux in over 80 cities around the globe. Over 20,000 stories are added each year and archived on Betacam SP and digital Beta.
AP Archive provides access to APTV, WTN, UPITN, Twentieth Century Archives and Universal Newsreels. These extensive collections and compilations of archival and contemporary footage provide a depth and breadth of news, entertainment, pop culture, sport, science and lifestyles content that allow the ABC to service your every domestic and international footage need.
The ABC represents AP Archive’s archival material non-exclusively in Australasia and South East Asia. AP Archive represents the ABC’s archival material non-exclusively in Europe and the United Kingdom.
